PUNK!

The first album that ever really spoke to me was "London Calling" by the Clash. I was in Dave Johnson's car in 1981 and he put in a cassette and said, "check this out". My life was never the same, but I suppose it could never be. It was edgy. There was depth. The lyrics made sense.

Our playlists at Area Bar are rock and roll but there are some that are pretty punk heavy. Usually on Mondays we play the "Monday Punkday" list. It is all punk. Sure Clash, Ramones, Dead Kennedys, The Cramps and Black Flag. But also Stiff Little Fingers, Buzzcocks, Generation X, The Adverts and others.

That list is only about 9 hours. Enough for a shift but not for an entire day. Our playlists are pretty banging, some around 30 hours long which can get you through an entire day without hearing a repeat. Ipswich Town Gets a Point!

2/16/25 Aston Villa hosted Ipswich Town FC this past weekend and ITFC came away with a much needed point! While it hurts to have to celebrate a tie game, it is much better than drowning our sorrows in a loss. We were almost losing touch with the middle of the table and certainly did not need more backsliding. We had a new goalie (3rd one this season) and he made over 20 saves!. The one that did get through was a freak rebound off the crossbar. While we face many tough tests this season, we remain hopeful that we will avoid relegation. We will be showing the Tottenham match on 2/22/2025 at 10AM with the sound on. Come on ya boys!
